Recently I had the Comcast home security package installed. When they installed the home thermostat that was part of it, the technician said it was all up and working. Then left. This was about 3 months ago. Well I hadn't had any reason to turn it on until this past week when the temperature dipped. So I go to fire up my furnace. And nothing. Never kicked on. It was getting pretty cold so I called my HVAC guy to come take a look thinking something was wrong with my furnace. He showed up and said that the thermostat that was installed wasn't compatable with my furnace. That he could make it work for another $100, on top of the service fee (which was $99 bucks). He said that it looks like the comcast guy tried to make it work and tried to rewire my system but that it wasn't ever going to becasue it wans't compatable. Luckily I still had the old unit and just had him hook that one back up. Needless to say I was a little upset. I feel like Comcast should cover my cost to have my furnace fixed or at a very least credit me for the thermostat, which I would like to return. Anyone run into something like this before?
