If you take the time to read what Comcast says about these devices, this is what they say to all..."Any fire detection system installed or used by Company to provide fire monitoring is a secondary, supplemental system and does not replace the primary system that you are responsible for maintaining in your home. These are Comcasts words, not mine!
This is the link: http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/home-security/about-fire-monitoring

I am well aware of what it says. My point was

1) that you were suggesting to self install the comcast smokes and co2 alarms regardless of the state law. Why would I ( or anyone else for that matter) want to do that since they will NOT be montored in the state of MA.The ONLY advantage of using the additional comcast home smoke and co2 detectors are that they are monitored and they will call the fire dept!!! Telling people to circumvent a state law is not usefull. Telling people to self install them when you cant take advantage of their intent and benefit is also not usefull.

2) My originol post was to inform those that live in my state of Ma that they cant use the detectors, and that I was commetning that comcast should make this information/disclaimer on their website and other advertising
