I had 8 inches of water flood my basement; however was not alerted by comcast, by text, by email or by audible noise.
No alarm went off, now that I look back on my history I see that water was detected on thursday evening. What is supposed to happen when the sensor detects water. I called comcast and they said nothing happens unless you tell it to happen on the "rules" on the web. I had six service appointments to set up my home security; yes SIX. apparently nobody knew what the max number of sensors allowed to have in one home. They kept installing them all and when they would leave sensors would fall of the system. Eventually we just removed multiple sensors and all was working well, or so I thought. My technician never told me no further action was necessary for any of my sensors to make them alert me, or make sounds. So what is the water sensors supposed to do when installed by the comcast installers. Provided no further action was taken on my part. I am just a little perturbed I paid over 5K for my security system and now I have over 10 K in damage to my basement; that could have been avoided if my water sensor actually worked. please advise thanks!
