Hello all.
I am in the process of adding some new sensors to my Xfinity Home Security setup and I have found loads of great help here on the forums while doing so. I'm very appreciative for all of it, thank you.
I have had a lot of fun designing the ultimate security system for my specific needs and I'm thinking now that I'd like to install a door/window magnetic sensor to my single-car garage roll-up door. I would designate the sensor as an entry/exit point and my wife and I use our iPhones to arm/disarm the system remotely typically anyway.
I'd like a sensor on this door as I rarely engauge the security pins when I close it, and I keep lots of very expensive tools and equipment in my garage. If a high tech intruder ever got ahold of ythe RF opening frequency or figured out another way to open the door, I want the alarm to sound. I keep a door opener in my single car that's parked outside of the garage at night, so if an intruder broke into my car and snagged the opener, he could then easily open the garage door. I want the alarm to sound on night mode if this were to happen to I can kindly be there waiting with a greeting from Mossberg.
My question is.. have any of yoru guys done this? Did you design or use any sort fo cool bracketry to mount the sensors to the garage door rolling track?
Let's throw some ideas around. Thanks!
