You can activate one camera, however I think that you will not be able to set any rules for it. You will only be able to view. Maybe with the 300 service you will be able to however. I think this is about $6 a month. Comcast doesn't restrict you from buying elsewhere. Try buyer dgpriority on eBay ( I might be misspelling...) he is very good.
