Hi RJMoon:
You were the one that originally told me about the 24v transformer. Thanks! I've confirmed that is what I have. This has been working without trouble until there was a power failure. It has happened twice in the last couple of months most likely due to the severe winter we are experiencing in the northeast.
I'll recap what is happening. When the power goes out, the batteries should take over until power is restored, correct? We'll they don't. So, the thermostat looses all power. When the electic is restored, the thermostat come back on, resets itself to 70 degrees and the wireless remote function does not work. (The cell tower symbol on the keypad is out).
Therefore, I cannot adjust my thermostat remotely. I don't why the thermostat is still eating batteries???? But shouldn't the wireless feature reactivate after power is restored????? If it did, then even if the batteries were dead, I would still be able to login and change my thermostate from the reset temperature of 70 back to the original setting of 45.
I really believe this thermostat is not working or is designed poorly. Can you suggest an alternative thermostat and system????
Thanks! davemarie314
