You are correct ... HUGE flaw with a security system. We had multiple vehicles broken into in the neighborhood. Since the police saw we had cameras out front they inquired about footage ... No footage was available even via Comcast. I think it's residuals and saw dis local police dept. if this flaw was pointed out when I purchased my system I would have gone another route ... Like I did in our vacation home in FL.
