Thanks for your reply. I verified the 24V AC line before installing as well as placed the batteries in the right direction. After talking with support she determined it had to be a faulty unit and scheduled the tech. I am not a certified electrician but have done a large amount of work in residential wiring and installing Tstats so I had an idea from the start that there was something up with the unit. It should have at least shown the tem as soon as the batteries were installed. Oh well not a huge issue as I have a wood stove that will keep the home toasty until the tech shows tomorrow.
