Update...wondeful technician came out Saturday after 2 hour wait with no notification of arrival time. He paired my themostat to the system so I now have control over that. He ran me and the system thru the various arming and unarming settings on the touchscreen. I felt pretty confident as he left. That nite I went to bed with the system armed but was awakened at 7a.m. with the alarm sounding and phone calls notifying me that the alarm had been triggered. I checked the touchscreen and it said the kitchen door had been tripped. Neither the kitchen nor any other door was open or ajar. At this point the local police knocked at my door. Within hours the touchscreen had become unresponive. A call to Xfinity Home had me powering off the modem and rebooting the touchscreen. The system was up and running again. Apparently. Later in the day I was demonstrating the touchscreen system and how to arm and disarm. The screen was showing the system as running. We then tested the motion sensor with "armed away" setting. Nothing happened. I then started opening doors and nothing happened. Here the system was showing as armed and on and no amount of sensor tripping at doors or motion tripped an alarm.
Frustration does not even come close to descibe my feelings. I have easily spent over 25 hours of my time trying to get Xfinity Home alarm system up and running. And I'm an employee of the company. I feel like writing to Comcast CEO David Cohen and asking " do you guys have any idea what customers are going thru? trying to get a system like Xfinity Home to work?" I now have not one bit of patience to talk to the HELP desk...they cannot fix this....and then of course scheduling a technician takes hours to accomplish. So I have no Xfinity Home system running now nor hardly ever over the last many months that it was installed(?).
And a bigger question, WHY HAS NO ONE FROM XFINITY EVER RESPONDED TO THIS POST?
