1. Wired zones will not be individual as was stated somewhere along the line. If they are bundled now, they will be bundled after the panel swap. Some locations offer a zone expander to spread the zones out, it is usually a special request that an In Home consultant can address.
2. No we cannot use an exsiting glassbreak from another supplier. Per BASA/FASA (Burglar alarm/fire alarm system agent) glass breaks can be un-reliable. Tint, impact windows, etc will not set off the glassbreak. Motion would be recommended as long as there are no large animals in the home.
3. You would be better off, for a $20 installation charge to have a certified Xfinity Home installer complete this process for you.
4. You will be able to view the camera from within your home without the $4.95 monthly video monitoring fee. If you want remote access through Smartphone, iPhones, etc. the $4.95 charge needs to be on the account. We cannot see what the cameras can see, only you have that access.
5. The Indoor/Outdoor cameras will work wirelessly, as long as they can pick up the wifi signal. Once outside the home, you may not have emough signal to stream properly. If we are able to hard wire, with CAT5 cable, an Indoor/Outdoor camera back to the router, then that camera can be powered and viewed with the CAT5. It is the recommended installation process once we get outside the home. You can save yourself some money by establishing this wire before the technician comes out to do your install. Establishing contact this way allows you to establish the cameras further away from the source. I believe this is in excess of over 200 feet.
As long as your system is hardwired, all zones functional, then Xfinity should be able to takeover your existing system. They will install a Honeywell Vista 20P control board and a Honeywell 6160 keypad. If you have an additional keypad, there will be an additional charge. As of right now, not sure how much longer, Xfinity will charge you $0 to change out the control board and 1 keypad. This is available in the Florida region.
We also include cellular back at no additional charge, this is big for the homeowner.
Above all else, if you want the correct answers to your Xfinity Home questions, call Xfinity and have an in home consultation done. Like myself, the reps in the field have the best knowledge base.
I hope this helps.
