There is a lot of equipment that Comcast can 'take over'...but there is also a lot of equipment that they cannot take over...unfortunately you equipment fell in to the later...the only way to determine if your equipment is by having a field technician look at your equipment ...the telephone reps will tell you anything to get the appointment to find out, and a lot of people will change over to new equipment when they find out that their equipment is not compatible...
