Comcast Has Been A Nightmare

Back in June 2014 Comcast had a promo stating that if you upgraded to TriplePlay that it would be $99.00 and you would get a Apple Ipad mini with a 2 ou lor 3 year contract.  I went online to set it up and it makes you log into you account for the upgrade.  I log in and the Promo is not in the list of TriplePlay options.  I have Comcast for my Internet and TV so I felt it would be good to ad the home security.  Not a bad deal for $99.00.

I call customer service and after about 45 mins she stated that she did not know how to set it up with the PROMO so she then transfers me to Sales.  I tell her I want the alarm with the 2 cameras, I don't need the thermostat, and so on.  She stated they can replace the camera and give me 3 camers since I don't want the thermostat. I tell the sales rep what I wanted and she stated that it requires a code to input that she does not have.

So I am like ok forget about it.  She tells me that she will make things right if I agree to get the service during the call.  She stated that she would waive the $399.00 installation charge and will sell me the equiptment for $300.00.  I would pay off the $300.00 at $50.00 per month for 6 months.  My bill would be $99.00 plus the $ 50.00 for 6 months.  This was her offer since she could not do the advertised promotion.  I agreed and we set up the install date for June 10th.

On June 10th I get a call from some lady from a 3rd party telling me she that they will need to reschedule the appointment and she would call me back after speaking to "Ralph".  I never got the call back and I left multiple messages to her on the number she called from.  I then get a 2nd call from a guy from another 3rd party company stating that he would be at my home in 5 mins.  I buzz him in the gate and meet him outside.  He tells me that Comcast hired his company to do the security and another to do the X1 box set up but the order is on one invoice so he cannot do the install.

So I call and reschedule.  I get another appointment for June 6th.  The guy was another 3rd party but he installed the alarm and box.  He shows me the TV channel line up and how to use the alarm, turn off the lights, and use the phone app.  He leaves and I turn the channel on the TV.  It took about 10 mins to go from one channel to another.

I call Comcast and they state that they needed to sync the box.  After about 30 mins it is working.  I am a happy custmer, so I thought.  I later realize the the thingy for another lamp is not working so a tech comes to fix it and the motion detector.  He tests the alarm system and when he leaves all is well.  Recall that I had to sign a contract that is bound after 30 days and I am on the last couple of days.

So now I am just a couple of days past the 30 days that bounds me to a 3 year contract.  I was initially told two years on the phone with the sales rep.  I get my next bill which is usually around $80.00 and I read $897.00.  I am like What the F!

I call and they tell me there are no notes stating what I agreed with the sales rep.  So I am like I am not lying, do you remember the promo and do you see me receiving the Ipad?  She is like Ihave to transfer you to another department.  I made 4 calls that day and nothing was resolved.  I spent close to 3 hours on the phone.  I call the next 2 days and got the same results.  On one call I stated just sut it off and take this back and she reminds me that I signed a 3 year contract and it is close to $3000.00 to terminate it.

I am now pretty angry and I call and the rep stated that he would escalate it to a manager via email  and I should get a call the next afternoon.  No call.  I call back and the next one does the same.  Waited 2 days and no call.  I did get get an email stating that I upgraded my service with services I did not order such as Streampix.  They were suppose to remove it and the additional boxes they have been charging for that were returned.

So now I see that I can not fix this.  i can't speak to a manager although I requested muliple times.  I have a bill close to $900.00 that I will not pay.  I have spent at leat 9 hours trying to resolve this with no resolve.

In short, be careful dealing with these people.  They have the worst cusomer service I have ever encountered.  I have had people hang up on me and I was not rude or irrate, I have been placed on hold and after a while the all is disonnected, I have called and was on the phone close to 9PM when they close and was disconnected.  No one listens.  I can run this entire story and when they reply it is nothing that I stated.

My next stepp with be to file a complaint with the FCC and BBB.  If I have to get my attorney involved I will.  I hate Comcast with a passion and when I am done they will never receive one penny ever again.
