Re: Camera Connection issues

Like everyone on this forum I had intermittent internet connections with my three cameras.  All were roughly within 25 feet of the Comcast modem.  All would roughly connect on not connect randomly. Normally at least one would be visible on the internet.

When I had a Comcast tech check out the system he found the 3 camera’s Wi-Fi signal strength roughly the same and within the correct range.  Observed the same intermittent operation with all three cameras, temporally installed within a foot of the Comcast / ARRIS TG862G/CT modem.  Calls to a technical supervisor resulted in a stonewall answer that the cameras had to be hard wired to the modem dispite having strong Wi-Fi signals.  The supervisor seemed quite put out that we would expect reliable operation via Wi-Fi.

I have experience with most of these issues from installing camera system on ocean going ships.  My best guess is there is either a software glitch or Comcast company policy is not allowing enough bandwidth on the system for cameras.  I returned my entire alarm system within 30 days and was out a $700.00 installation fee.  My son who’s single camera on the internet  is intermittent at best, was told by Comcast that since he was over the 30 day trial period he was stuck with the problem and all billing for the entire alarm contact period,
