My Xfinity home system internal battery is failing. The tech arrived and told me they cannot replace the battery because the system I have is out of date, but he would schedule an appointment to replace/upgrade my system as part of the service plan. When I called to see about scheduling the appointment, I was told by comcast that to correct my problem they would charge me $299 to upgrade the system. When I clarified the issue, they confirmed that even if my system failed, they have no way to replace/repair my system without charging the $299. All I need is an $5 replacement battery, and since comcast can't replace it, they want $299. Has anyone else figured out a way to get past this issue?
