That is correct. Sensors that one Alarm company or system uses. Is not compatible with the system that Comcast uses. As for the CSR you spoke with. It may have been someone new, or a third party service, that does not fully understand how the Comcast Security system works.
Yes the sensors are expensive. That is due to even still at this time. It is a new technology that Comcast and other providers are using for what they are providing.
Personally I have found having two large dogs, my own personal Security cameras, an active neighborhood watch, with neighbors that are home all of the time, along with police officers that live in my area. Works better then paying for some third party to do something that I get for free.
