Can I switch the location of my DVR with to a room with just an HD box
Re: Zone Patrolling
Ok... nice answer...
But I also currently have a zone with a faulty smoke detector... it doesn't even have batteries... the system still says it's ok. I guess I'd just have expected it to keep better tabs on sensors and alert to a sensor going offline... especially when the system is armed.
Re: Delete zone/sensor
Unfortunately it isn't the same code as that used to get to the installer mode... the 4321, which unless I missed is is the only password he mentions in that thread.
Re: Xfinity Home Security Install Requires Additional Network Equipment (Router/Gatew
I too am an IT pro and as it stands two weeks ago the supplied Cisco Comcast cable modem does not support bridge mode. It NATs and then you can plug their router in behind it as well as your own, but either way you end up double-NAT'd. I was told a firmware fix has been developed and should be out "soon," but the technician also indicated it had been delayed several times.
Yes, as it is it's a problem. I haven't tried to move the security router behind mine, but there are zero obvious settings in the cable modem (DMZ, forwards etc) that would imply it would be an issue. I am not using cameras with the system though, so that might be the limitation.

Re: Delete zone/sensor
Right that's what I'm saying...
4321 gets you to the menu to add/delete zones etc and you can add without an issue. The problem is as soon as you go to delete it asks for another password... which isn't 4321 or the monitoring password, or the master arm/disarm PIN.

Sorry, couldn't resist...
Re: Zone Patrolling
What I'm saying is watch the zone status on your system... when you take the batteries out of a sensor...
You'll get the inital tamper alert saying you removed the base, etc. But once you acknowledge it though the system doesn't come back and say hey... the sensor is totally gone. Even simpler example take any sensor outside the ragne of the system... ie you won't "tamper" it ever... the system doesn't care that a sensor has totally vanished.

Re: Delete zone/sensor
1. Settings
2. Enter code
3. 4321 (it doesn't let you enter more than 4 characters)
5. Enter technician name/ID -- I was told you can enter anything here.
4. Remove Sensor/Device
5. "Enter Premise passphrase" and says it is available on the management portal and then I'm stuck.
Re: Xfinity Home Certificate needed by insurance company
We received a certificate from the initial installer as part of the customer education packet. He signed and dated and left with us to give to the insurance company.

Digital Converter Adapter
I just bought a new Samsung TV which has a digital card. I'm told by Comcast that despite this I still need to rent a digital converter. They said that this is due to "change in rules by the FCC" that had them scramble their signals. Has anyone experienced this? I was told by a Best Buy salesman and I could hook it up directly to a coaxial cable. Comcast says.....no.
Thanks!
