as long as it uses the same wifi signal to connect, you should be okay. however, comcast's app and software is kind of specifically designed to work with their products. so like the thermo you buy has some additional features that the comcast one does not have, i would imagine that you'd be unable to access those features from their software. comcast does seem to have more issues with the thermo than most products of xfinity home. i would suggest swapping the thermo for another cam and then buying your own thermo that is separate from comcast. as if that company has a way of accessing the device through a mobile app, you wouldn't disable any features and ensure the best compatibility
