add smoke alarm, other devices??

I just bought a bunch of used (new to me) items for xfinity home.  They include

 

- Bunch of door/window sensors

- Smoke alarm

- Additional wall keypad

- Water sensors

- Add'l motion sensors

-Keyfob

 

Is there a certain process to pair these?? When I am in the installer menu, I dont see options to add some of these. just "other devices".

 

My questions are:   -How to put devices in Pairing Mode

                               - Do I have to let xfinity know there are new zones?

                               - Do I have to "de-learn" sensors from last system it was paired to.

XFINITY HOME, PANEL INTERFACE BOARD LOST POWER ERROR MESSAGE BEEPS INTERMITTENTLY.  I DOUBLE CHECKED THE POWER ADAPTER, EVEN PLUGGED IT INTO A UPS BACKUP JUST INCASE, NO GO.  I STILL GET THE ONE BEEP AND MESSAGE ABOUT ONCE A DAY. I CLEAR THE MESSAGE, NO DIFFERENCE. COMES BACK. PANEL ISSUE?

Where exactly is this tamper switch?  I have removed and installed the stand several times and I did not get any message saying tampered like I do when you disassemble a sensor.  I do see a small button behind one of the screw covers but it looks more like a reset button. 

 

Also is there a camera and small mic on this unit?!  Looks like a small camera right above the screen (or maybe light sensor)  and a hole on top, small one, similar to the size of a mic in a smartphone.  Just seemed odd..

The problem started yesterday when I was sitting at my desk and my keypad started beeping and said that the keypad peripheral was having trouble communicating.

Peripheral Trouble - There are no more issues communicating with peripheral Keypad 1.

I disarmed and rearmed the system and it seemed to be ok.

 

Then this morning at 5am my alarm goes off.  Based on the history, all the sensors were hosed now and the problems actually started around 3am:

 

Zone Trouble - Having difficulty communicating with the Basement Dr sensor.

Then more sensor trouble after I rushed downstairs to turn off the alarm and find out what was going on:

 

Zone Trouble - The battery for the Living Rm sensor is now fine.

So basically in the last 24 hours

 

  • My keypad sensor has gone on the fritz
  • My basement door sensor has gone on the fritz
  • My basement window sensor has gone on the fritz AND caused a false alarm
  • My living room motion sensor has gone on the fritz

So far the only sensor to not have trouble in the last 24 hours is my front door sensor.

 

The system is less than 60 days old and has worked fine up until yesterday.

 

Any ideas?

You would have to call Comcast to get those issues resolved.

Just had security system installed yesterday. The front door camera is not working properly it come on for about a minute then goes out for 30 minutes. What can I do?

Hi Ihblaise

 

My apologies with the issue you are experiencing  trying to arm your system.Are you getting the error on the application or touchscreen. You always do have the option of rebooting the touchscreen and wireless router.

My xfinity home security touch screen controller is frozen.  I cannot get it to return to home, weather or time.  It is on the security screen to arm/disarm the system but the touch screen is not responding. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what did you do to correct it?

low battery warning, how to clear

I got a low battery warning on my security system touch screen re the thermostat. I changed the batteries in the thermo. The touch screen continues to emmit an audible alarm regarding the low battery issue. How do I reset the touch screen so it stops giving of the audible notice??

in the my account section it shows i don't have home activated. please correct my last name spelling. A great tech who was very thorough installed our equipment. Just because he mis-spelled my last name your account page shows No activation so I can't set rules. Please help

From another post:
Just happened to me..low batteries. Had to follow these steps as others have recommended, AFTER installing new batteries (behind bottom cover, which slides forward):
1. Power off Comcast modem, then power back on,
2. Power off Xfinity Home router, then power back on,
3. Reboot touchscreen (go to touchscreen settings and follow prompts),
4. Reset thermostat (button behind top cover which slides forward. This resets then shuts thermostat off. At this point I reset again, since someone recommended turning thermostat off first.)
Beeps every few hours finally stopped and ALERT message on ipad and touchscreen FINALLY went away...hopefully for good!

When you remove the table stand, you'll notice that on the top right corner of the stand, there is a little plastic pin that inserts into the tamper switch. On the back of the touch panel, there are 4 holes that can be used to mount the unit on the wall. Inside the top-right mounting hole, you will find the tamper switch. It needs to be constantly pressed so that tamper signal won't come on. The signal doesn't come on right away, I'm not sure how long, but it takes a while. I just found a little piece of plastic that I was able to wedge inside the hole for the tamper switch and that keeps the button pressed. I'll try to post pictures when I have time. As for the camera and mic, yes the unit has them. I assume the manufacturer added them perhaps so you could talk to the monitoring station in an emergency, but Comcast does not use the feature.
