Hi staciee3

Sorry about the issues with the keypad. If you have checked the keypad like ryanpg stated and are still having issues you can send me a private message so that we can schedule an appointment.

One other thing you can try is rebooting the touchscreen to see if it will reconnect with the keypad.

Let me know if this helps

Thanks

Joseph

Just curious if anyone else has tried this. I have and cannot get it to work. Both run off Zigbee, I believe, so I thought it may be possible, but the Comcast app cannot ever find the lights.

Ricard0,

I did a take over on components of my old wired system and added serveral Comcast wireless devices.

I do have one small problem.

I still have the Honeywell keypad in addition to my touch screen.  The problem is, the "Fire" sticker fell off of the Honywell keypad.  So far, Comcast has been unable tp provide me with a replacement "Fire" sticker.  Can you provide the model # of the keypad so I can see if I can go direct to Honeywell to get a new sticker?

XFINITY: Can we get some help on features and issue requests?

Background: I've had this system since November.  Worked most of the connectivity glitches out.

XFINITY REPS:  PLEASE RESPOND AND PROVIDE FEEDBACK.

Here are some features we need:

1.  Allow us to turn volume off on the keypad for arming/disarming the system. Waking my 10 month up with the obnoxious beeping when the system is arming/disarming is stupid.  It's 1am, I don't need all the beeping.

2.  Allow us to create bulk alarm rules. I want 4 camers to do the same thing, now I have to create 1 rule at a time.  Allow us to create 4 of the same for each camera.

3.  Allow 3rd party Zigbee light bulbs to be used with our system.  You gotta stop preventing people from using different gear.  It's shortsighted.

4.  Fix the "Armed Night" motion setup. Right now I have to choose between Night motion and Away motion.  That results in me using Armed Night for everything.  FIX THIS XFINITY.

5.  Develop a better Home Alarm Router. This netgear router is awful.  There are much higher quality WIFI routers out there now that will provide better camera performance and with much higher stability.

6.  Turn on "motion" capture for cameras. I want my camera to start recording the moment someone walks into frame.  That's not hard, and most systems already have it.

Feel free to add your wishlist on here as well.

I added a range extender. How to I change the settings for Xfinity home security?

I added a range extender to my home wifi, which resulted in a new connection name. How do I change the settings for the Xfinity home control tablet?

You can try to disarm it with your phone app or with the keypad. You will most likely have to remove the battery to reset the touchscreen so if you can't disarm it call comcast before doing anything.

Xfinity Home works on a hidden network. Adding a extender to your personal network should not effect the security network as long as you didn't factory reset your xfinity home router/ gateway. The touchscreen just needs to be located as close to center of your house as it can be. And it needs to be in the wifi coverage area of your first router.

Re: Xfinity Home Security and routing questions

My installation story (and "possible" issues) are a little different.  Original set up before Comcast Home was ARRIS 722 Cable Modem.  Airport Extreme Gen 5 (supplying both a 2.4 and 5 ghz networks) connected to the Arris 722.  A second Airport Extreme (Gen 2) connected to extend the original Network setup by AE Gen 5.  In this case, all devices, wired and wireless were see direct IPV4 and IPV6 traffic.  The Arris 722 automatically sent both sets of information to the AE Gen 5 for auto setup.

Comcast Home apparently requires its own "dedicated" wireless service I was told.  The tech brought out an ARRIS TG862G (which I can log into and see).  So as not to conflict with the 10.x.x.x default settings in the two AEs and existing network, the TG862 was reconfigured with a 192.168.1.1 gateway address.  The AE Gen 5 is now plugged into Port 1 (the only active one I was told) of the 862..  All the XFinity Home wireless (the control panel touch screen primarily) seems happy.

All the downstream devices from the AEs are running fine with one exception.  The two AEs are no longer seeing the IPV6 information.  The tech called level 3 Comcast and was told that the two downstream AEs were now really just handling the home network IP addresses and that the TG862 would handle both IPV6 and IPV4 information (which when I log into it with a wireless device it does).

So the question is, am I losing anything in the two AEs in terms of original functionality?  Bridge mode on the TG862 is not acceptable as the Home Security Touch Screen needs access to the TG862...

Thoughts??

I have been told repeatedly on several months that you will be sending me a new phone modem and that I would receive and email confirming this. I have not heard anything. I recently talked to a customer service person who told me that he would take care of it.

Please let me know if and when I can expect a new modem.

Thank You

Billing for Xfinity Home Security System

I have been a Comcast customer for quite a few years and recently we decided to go to Xfinity Home Security.   On receiving my first bill I had sales tax added that was really high.  Approximately $40.00 high.  After 3 hours of conversation with Xfinity Home Security people, I knew before they did that the taxes were due to the upgrade.  Where I live the tax rate is 8.7%.  Xfinity people told me that the computer figures the taxes automatically and they could not itemize my bill and tell me how they came up with these charges.  I feel that this is very poor that the so called experts that you talk to cannot explain their own billing process. The bill was over $500.00 and the tax rate of 8.7% does not factor in at all.  I am now saying "GOOD BYE" to Xfinity Home Security System. Unless someone can help me understand the bill.
