Re: Wireless thermostat

If it is the Ct-30, there is no problem with it controlling radiant hot water. The thermostat has to be set into Electric for the type of heat, even though it may be gas fired. The part that is not going to work, is controlling the A/C from two different thermostats on the same system. That is why you need a different setup.

You really need to get with a local hvac contractor that can design a system that will work for you. The best one is the Honeywell IAQ system. Being that you have two different heating systems, again a HVAC contractor can figure out the best option.

You can control with two thermostats the different heating systems, but again as I stated, it is the A/C that is the problem. Sign up over at diychatroom.com and the hvac contractors can tell you the best way to do this, so that this conversation is outside of this forum.

Thermostat Programming

I have a Radio Thermostat that is part of an Xfinity Home Security solution.  My question relates to the programming of the thermostat.  I have entered a custom program and can step through it by pressing the program button on the thermostat.   But I cannot get the program to run.  The temperature does not change and the thermostat acts as if it were ON HOLD.  The HOLD function is off both visually on the thermostat and it shows off on the Xfinity touchpad.

When the thermostat was installed I was able to successfully run the program.  I recently had to change the thermostat batteries and reset the thermostat to make the low battery icon disappear.

How do I get the program to run again?  I asked this question of Radio Thermostat and they directed me to Xfinity support.

Thanks for your help in advance.

It may be that you placed it into Simple mode. It happens when you press and hold the Prog. button for more then 12 sec's. To get it out of Simple mode, you just hold the Prog. button for another 12 sec's. Simple error, happens all of the time. The manual for the CT-30 can be found at http://www.radiothermostat.com/documents/CT-30-Operation-19apr10.pdf

I have the same thermostat, but use the cloudbeam.com radio in it.

Thank you for the link but I have the CT-30 manual.  I am not in Simple Mode as I can see the time, set time slot and fan status.

Take the top cover where the wires are and press the reset button. It will do a reboot of the thermostat. Can you change the program from the home site? When you do it at the thermostat. The program can be overridden by the controlling site, which is Xfinity home.

When you manually do it, follow the instructions in the manual. It helps if you use a toothpick, rather then your finger. Just make sure that you dull the point on the toothpick first. I use a touchscreen pen for an old HP iPAQ that I used to have, to adjust mine. Due to sometimes your fingers just hit the wrong area on the screen.

I have been on the phone for an half hour in an attempt to get repair service for my telephone. The rep that I talked with didn't seen to have a clue what he was doing. I explained to him that I had not service, no dial tone...he kept placing me on hold without coming back with any answers.  I ask to sent a repair person to come out because we have been having the same problem since we have had telephone service with comcast.  It seems that no one can resolve the issue.  I am at the point believing the only we to get phone service is to go back to Verizon...I am in the process of doing so

If you reset it you probably need to pair it back into the Xfinity home system, this should be in the owners manual. It is right now a stand alone thermostat. You should not reset the system at any time other than a malfunction.

In this case, this does not happen when you just press the reset button on the ct-30 thermostats.  The U-Snap module stays paired with the thermostat & the Xfinitiy home service.  All it does is a simple reboot of the device.

This is terrible advise...DO NOT follow this advise...see other comments posted. You can reset at any time you feel necessary, and there is no pairing for thermostats.

Had the xfinity home system installed yesterday and was having the same problem. After speaking to someone with Comcast and having him tell me there are 4 ports on the back of my router I decided to look elsewhere. I finally got it to work after a few various forum posts, by

  1. First I exposed the router to the internet.
    1. On the tablet provide by Comcast goto settings/advanced settings/connectivity. Once there follow the expose personal router to internet instructions.
  2. Then on my router I found the DMZ settings. I use the DDWRT software on my router which can be installed on pretty much every router, so you don't need to run out and buy another device.
    1. Login into router configuration page and go to NAT/QoS then click DMZ,
    2. Put in the IP address of the device you need ports open for in my case that was 192.168.1.15.
    3. Once I did that I was able to connect remotely.

Maybe I just got lucky but it's worth a try if you feel frusterated.

Read other forums...you have to upgrade your account with Comcast for an additional monthly fee...

Someone posted the codes necessary to self-install...not sure where, but read through them starting with the latest posting and you should find it within a half hour or so...

Camera Firmware Updates

I saw that the firmware updated as part of the install process when I first installed my cameras, but does anyone know what the procedure/process is for checking and updating firmware after that? I would think that each camera would have to be connected back to the security router with an ethernet cable, but what are the step-by-step instructions?
