Start Here envelope empty?

We received our XFinity Home equipment a few months ago but, because of how our cable modem and router are configured, it would be a nightmare for me to add Home to the mix at this time, so I cancelled.  But I want to make sure I have all the equipment for when I do set it up.

 

There was a cardboard envelope in the box that says "Start Here" but it's empty.  The box it was shipped in was not taped shut on the bottom sides, so it would have been easy for paperwork and/or dvd's or other flat items to fall out of the box.

 

Anyway - just wondered what was supposed to be in that envelope that I might be missing and how to obtain it, if necessary.

I have the same issue...everything seems to check out..except I cannot install apps. Tried rebooting the touchscreen, security router, etc. I am able to communicate with the security system outside of my LAN successfully.

New comcast customer.  Had service installed on 3-20-2014.  

 

We have three cameras (two exterior, one interior) that were working up until about 11PM last night when the connection has been lost to the cameras.  

 

The WiFi/Internet is working just fine on all of my devices, it appears the security system is the ONLY thing not working.  Why?  

 

I've rebooted the touchscreen and even all of my equipment and still nothing.  Is there a secret to getting these to come back online?  All three cameras just show color bars on them.

I have a SMCD3GNV unit and noticed the Battery LED is flashing.

Is this something that needs immedite attention?

How is this fixed?

Can I use my own modem for Comcast Home Security?

When my home security system was installed they installed a Netgear WNR1000 modem to link security system to the internet. They are charging me $8 a month for the modem. Has anyone gone through the process of setting up their own modem and thereby avoiding the $8 a month charge?

Check the diagnostics of the touchscreen and verify you have broadband service and you aren't running your service on cell backup.

yes you can buy your own then return the other to Comcast...get a receipt!

you should call Comcast and ask if they provide battery replacement. I asked when my system was installed new, and was told that they change batteries free of charge...please post the outcome of your call here...

did you try calling Comcast technical support? If there is an issue they cannot resolve with you over the phone, they will send a technician out to you.

I just found out I have my own modem. If I return my Comcast modem, will Comcast stop charging me $8 monthly fee for a modem.?
And if yes, how do I return the equipment?

Do you have just Internet or do you have phone and Internet, is just Internet find the nearest office and return the equipment, or for a charge you can have a tech pick up the equipment, if you have phone too then you still need the box for dial tone and still need to pay the 8$

Depends on the sensor. Try and see what happens if you can or read the specs to see what the manufacture says.

Are you 'Comcast Official Employees' still out there or have you all moved on??? You guys don't seem to help in the forum any more...what's going on?
